Cargo General Acceptance
A Shipment will be accepted from an individual shipper or agent provided that an Airway Bill is issued against the particular shipment followed by the completion of all government and handling formalities. The shipper or his agent should produce necessary instruction for the transportation of goods through a Shipper's Instructions for Dispatch (SID form).
The agent or shipper must ensure that goods are handed over to Island Aviation Cargo Services Department well ahead of time to enable completion of all documentation, handling, and loading as well as other government or carrier's formalities.
Shipments from Airlines / Cargo Sales Agents will be accepted up on providing specific information in writing. These information’s and a draft format is available in “PDF” format at FORMS DOWNLOAD.

Cargo Screening
The following are to be remembered when handing over shipments to Island Aviation.
- All shipments from all customers are subject to inspection.
- It is mandatory to x-ray check on all loose cargo and cargo loaded in LD3 (AKE) containers.
- Completion of security formalities is a shipper’s responsibility.
- However shipments packed and sealed in presence of National Security Services and Maldives Customs Services shall not be screened at all times.
- All customers handing over shipments must have three SID forms endorsed from the government authorities (N.S.S, Customs and MACL security).
- Shipments inspected through X-ray machine must have a security sticker positioned on the N.S.S column of the SID form.
- To assist in the process, a complete and accurate commodity description (packing list), either on the air waybill or on an attached manifest, should be provided
- Acceptance and processing must not take longer than our published cutoff times
- In locations, security bodies will be asking you or your agent to participate in the opening of shipments to facilitate the inspection process. This will include providing any special tools or equipment needed to open and reseal your cartons or crates.
- All export air cargos must be handed to Island Aviation Services Ltd in READY FOR CARRIAGE condition. Meaning – packed, marked, labeled, loaded and documented.
